Ottawa has lost a shining star named Laurel Anderson. Yesterday, we said goodbye to one of the most amazing women I have ever met. When I started my original KickAss Ottawa site a couple years ago, she was a contributor and wrote great posts as only she could. Sadly, the site was hacked and all the posts were lost. I encourage you all to visit her blog. It is filled with passion and is a reflection of her incredible spirit. There is a post called “My Word for Joy is 2016.” and it is a powerful read. The post is a reminder for us all to find the joy around us. We need to seek out joy as she so eloquently says….
Sometimes we have to hunt that sucker down. It doesn’t always just come to us. We need to search it out. (Laurel Anderson)
I have great memories of Lola. She introduced me to the incredible potato soup at Baton Rouge and we shared many meals together at the Big Rig. We enjoyed fun times together during our Busy Bitches Bookless Bookclub dinners. The name still brings a smile to my face.
I will miss you, Laurel. Miss your passion for writing. Miss the stories about your family. I will miss your friendship.
Rest in peace my dear friend.
